The City of Greater Bendigo has launched its 2025 Business Support Survey, encouraging businesses of all sizes to participate. This survey delves into various aspects of business operations, skills training, and industry development within the region.
James Myatt, the Manager of Economy and Experience at COGB, emphasized the significance of this annual survey in shedding light on the pressing needs and priorities of businesses in the area. By gathering feedback through this initiative, the city aims to enhance business confidence and pave the way for strategic economic growth. Business owners are urged to share their challenges, needs, and future priorities, enabling the city to identify both obstacles and opportunities for local enterprises.
The previous year’s survey uncovered key issues such as cumbersome tender processes, workforce recruitment and retention challenges, and concerns within the city center. Feedback from business owners highlighted additional worries, including a lack of tourism, economic uncertainties, insufficient support mechanisms, growth limitations, and the need for more networking prospects. In response to these findings, COGB took proactive measures like organizing a jobs expo to facilitate recruitment and introducing a new investment attraction role in its economic development team.
The current survey, accessible until April 2, presents an opportunity for businesses to shape forthcoming city initiatives and programs. By participating in this survey, businesses can contribute to the design of tailored support mechanisms that nurture their growth and sustainability. The insights gleaned from this survey will inform the City of Greater Bendigo on how best to bolster local businesses, ensuring they thrive and contribute meaningfully to the city’s economic landscape.
