Porsche has unveiled three new all-wheel-drive 911 models, blending power, iconic design, and advanced technology to enhance the driving experience. These new additions, namely the 911 Carrera 4S Coupé, the 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, and the 911 Targa 4S, join the existing all-wheel-drive lineup, catering to drivers seeking high performance, safety, and dynamic control under various conditions.
This launch coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Porsche Targa, a silhouette that made its debut in 1965 as a safety innovation for convertibles. Today, the Targa stands out with its all-wheel-drive feature and an automatic roof system that opens in just 19 seconds, seamlessly blending classic style with modern technology.
Under the hood, these new 911 models boast a 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine delivering 480 PS, marking a 30 PS increase from previous models. Equipped with a new cooling system and an eight-speed PDK automatic transmission, the Carrera 4S Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in an impressive 3.3 seconds and achieves a top speed of 308 km/h, solidifying its position among the segment’s top performers.
The Porsche Traction Management all-wheel-drive system prioritizes power delivery to the rear axle but adjusts torque distribution to the front when stability is crucial. This configuration ensures optimal performance on various surfaces and in different weather conditions, offering a blend of sportiness and safety.
Enhancing the mechanical upgrades are features like 20-inch alloy wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear, a sports exhaust system, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, and large brake discs with red GTS-style calipers. Additionally, the Targa 4S comes with rear-axle steering for improved maneuverability at low speeds and stability at higher speeds.
Inside the vehicles, a refined ambiance awaits, with premium leather finishes, LED Matrix lighting, wireless charging for mobile devices, electrically adjustable mirrors with ambient lighting, and a lane-keeping assist system. The Coupé models come as standard two-seaters, while the Cabriolet and Targa versions include rear seats at no extra cost.
Buyers can further customize their vehicles with a range of options, from color schemes to sound system enhancements. The Targa, for instance, offers roof color options like black, blue, red, or brown, adding a unique touch to its timeless design.
Porsche’s introduction of these new all-wheel-drive models not only expands the 911 range but also underscores the brand’s dedication to innovation, design, and driving pleasure. This evolution of the 911, designed for enthusiasts seeking excellence on every journey, showcases Porsche’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology and performance in its iconic sports cars.
