Woxsen University in India and Porto Business School in Portugal have collaborated to launch a groundbreaking Dual Doctorate Program in Business Administration (DBA & PhD). This innovative program is tailored for senior executives, consultants, and policymakers seeking to advance into strategic leadership roles or deepen their expertise. It focuses on applied research, allowing participants to tackle real-world business challenges and offer valuable insights to their organizations.
Scheduled to begin in January 2026, the program bridges continents, offering a unique perspective by combining the strengths of Asia and Europe. By leveraging India’s dynamic innovation ecosystem and Portugal’s academic tradition and European market access, the program equips scholars with a truly global mindset.
Over a three-year period, participants will engage in a part-time, hybrid learning approach that incorporates online coursework and immersive in-person residencies at both campuses. This cross-continental experience enables leaders to immerse themselves in diverse business environments, hone advanced research skills, and develop the strategic and cultural competencies needed to address complex global challenges.
More than just a double degree, this program serves as a platform for cultivating impactful leadership at the intersection of Eastern and Western influences. Noteworthy is the international residency module, where scholars will spend several weeks at the partner university engaging in industry-based projects and collaborative research initiatives. This hands-on experience is complemented by mentorship from esteemed faculty at both institutions, ensuring a blend of theoretical depth and practical applicability. Additionally, this period allows scholars to gain firsthand insight into the host country’s business landscape, economic dynamics, strategic networks, and global opportunities.
The program offers three specialized tracks: Digital, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Innovation; Strategic Business Leadership; and Global Policy and Operations Management. These tracks are designed to align with the evolving demands of the global business landscape, empowering participants to drive innovation, demonstrate ethical leadership, and influence business and policy outcomes on a global scale. Upon completion, students will earn a PHD from Woxsen University and a DBA from Porto Business School.
Leadership figures from both institutions have expressed their enthusiasm for this partnership and the program’s potential impact. Raul Villamarin Rodriguez, Vice President at Woxsen University, emphasized the program’s role in nurturing leaders capable of navigating a globally interconnected world.
